TVS Confirms To Launch Norton Bikes Later This Year In India.

Norton Motorcycles Set to Hit Indian Roads by 2025, Thanks to India-UK FTA

Big news for motorcycle enthusiasts in India! Norton Motorcycles, the iconic British brand now owned by TVS Motor Company, is gearing up to make its official entry into the Indian market by the end of 2025.

TVS acquired Norton back in 2020 and has been carefully planning its strategy to introduce the premium retro motorcycle brand to Indian riders. While details have been scarce, the wait seems to be finally coming to an end.

What’s even more exciting is that the recently approved Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between India and the UK is expected to give a major boost to this launch. The agreement will likely make it easier—and potentially more affordable—for TVS to bring Norton bikes to India, making them more accessible to passionate riders here.

Although TVS hasn’t revealed the specific models that will be launched, industry insiders believe that bikes like the Commando 961, V4SV, and V4CR—currently available in the UK—could arrive in India via the CBU (Completely Built Unit) route.

If you’ve been dreaming about owning a piece of British motorcycling heritage, the Norton line-up might just be worth the wait.

Thanks to the Free Trade Agreement, there’s a good chance that Norton’s British-made motorcycles will be priced more competitively in India. That’s great news for buyers—and for TVS, which is aiming to position Norton as its flagship premium motorcycle brand in the country. With these high-end bikes on the horizon, TVS is clearly looking to tap into the growing demand for aspirational, big-capacity machines and carve a niche for Norton in the premium segment.

That’s not all—TVS and Norton are also cooking up something exciting for the future. A brand-new range of 300–500cc motorcycles is currently in development, aimed not just at India but also at other emerging markets. The first of these bikes, co-developed by both brands, will target the 300–400cc segment and is expected to make its debut in India by 2028.

What makes this move especially interesting is that it marks TVS’s entry into the 300–400cc neo-retro space—a segment the company hasn’t tapped into yet. With the iconic Norton badge on these bikes, TVS is clearly aiming to make a bold statement. This category is known for its high profit margins and strong demand, so it’s a smart move with plenty of potential.

Once launched, these mid-capacity machines will go head-to-head with some big names—think Royal Enfield, Triumph, and even Harley-Davidson. Safe to say, the neo-retro scene in India is about to get a lot more exciting!

Norton Motorcycles plans to launch around six all-new premium models by 2027, particularly for the US and European markets. We can expect a few of these bikes to make it to the Indian shores when Norton brand is officially introduced here. The new Norton motorcycles are expected to be unveiled around September this year, followed by their launch in India by the end of 2025
