Delhi NEET Aspirant Dies by Suicide in Kota Days Before Exam, Highlighting Mental Health Concerns
In a heartbreaking incident, 23-year-old Roshan Sharma from Delhi lost his life just days before the NEET-UG 2025 exam. Preparing in Kota for the past three years, Roshan had recently told his family he felt unready and needed another year to prepare. Despite their visit and efforts to bring him home, Roshan stayed back and was later found deceased near a railway track.
Police investigations suggest suicide by poisoning. His death marks the 12th such case in Kota this year, reflecting the immense stress faced by students in India’s coaching hub. Authorities have launched an inquiry under Section 194(A) of BNSS.
Roshan’s case, alongside another recent student tragedy, renews focus on the urgent need for mental health support among exam aspirants.
